Experience Korea

Experience Korean dining

Hwaroro Korean grill and food, Kalayaan Ave.

I knew that you have been to a lot of places such as restaurant or cafe with unique touch of Korea. But this, it is not that much, for as I know, this is the first time I wore a Hanbok. I'm just seeing this in Seoul trip on my friend's fb and now, I can wear it here.
so, simply sharing ッ.

Buffet table

This restaurant is not just for grilling foods. It has a small buffet for variety of Korean foods to choose from.

Raw meat

This is the raw meat section for grilling, 에 of course. It serves beef, pork, cream dory, sausage and marinated meat (Korean Bbq).

Veggies

This section serve for fruits and vegetables. As you can see, they have the famous Kimchi. On the end of this table, you can get and mix up your sauces and spices for your non-marinated meats.

Celebrating their holiday.

Grill

Grill time. 🍖 I did not even know nor used the hanging host on the ceiling.
But it's normally to suck the smoke out from your surroundings, pretty much.

Hanbok area
This is one of the exciting part here, the dressing area for your cute photo shoot. They have a lot of cute Hanbok to mix up colors of the choice you want.

And yeah, there you have it. Fun time with my colleagues. As I've said, do not expect much. We did not bought any drinks, we just paid for ₱399 for grill and food.

P.s. 👌 It is a simple dine. But, I would suggest to try their other location on Timog Avenue based on reviews. 💜

Japanese Noodle Taste Test

Trying a legit fresh from Japan noodle dish ツ

Japanese Noodle

Japanese food is really an exciting treat for everybody's soul. Sushi, noodles, ...
and you can find it anywhere in your country.
But this noodle is from Japan who bought by my brother as Pasaubong.
So, its not that much to blog for, but then again, it's my experience.

Well, gladly there's a picture on every procedure. It's kinda fun to analyze things, right?

Japanese Noodle

This are the steps on the 2nd photo.
  1. There are 3 small pack inside (Kewpie! omg! , soysauce & dried veggies), just open the lid up until to the line provided.
  2. Firstly, you need to place the dried veggie and hot water.
  3. Close the lid and wait for 3 minutes I guess? (as what I predicted on the 3rd photo. There's a number 3 in it) and then open it.
  4. WOW! Why does the Locals here don't even think about this easy drainage! Yeah, my noodles are now soft to eat.
  5. Place the soy sauce.
  6. Lastly, Place the Kewpie Mayo, this just made me happy. ツ   Mix it.

Updated! I just figured it out that there's an application for you to easily translate foreign hieroglyphics via phone like Word Lens.

Japanese Noodle

And based on my experience. It's just an ordinary Calamansi Soy sauce Instant Noodle. I did not even tasted much of the Kewpie and this dish is good for 2 person. Well, I've enjoyed it though. Haha, just don't know what's the name of the product. ツ

A forgotten place that will never be forgotten.

Would you rather run away from your fears or would you rather face and fight for it?

fear quote, strength quote

A sudden of unfortunate times that we encountered in our waking life. Most of the people had experienced hopeless times such as broken hearts, lost direction and many unpleasant realities throughout this imperfect world for our existence may never be perfect as what we planned. Is it really have to end and leave it behind? Majority of the people had done it when they had a new chance in life. Yet, there are people who never got out of it and it still haunts them.

Life is a continuous learning process. You may never learned about the bad things had happened to you. For the crucial reason, we may have to go back to fix it, to learn for more or maybe to end it completely. Because, you may need to learn harder. So, I did. Those occurrences that what come up against us has a profound meaning that we may be needed to face it  for one more time, for our destiny.

On the whole of it, It is the only way to end those fears that has bothered us for a long time. Every obnoxious happenings has a positive view that we could have acquired a valuable lessons at our disposal. Apparently, the only outcome of it, is freedom, that is what we always aim for, and I believe everything happens for a reason. 👑

healthy food, healthy lifestyle, Spinach and pesto pasta, green smoothie

 Spinach and pesto pasta

  1. Blend the solid ingredients until it looks like a pesto paste.
  2. Cook the pesto paste in a pan to simmer the milk and the cheese.
  3. Put salt and pepper to taste and the lemon juice.
  4. Lastly, for garnishing, I chose bacon. And sadly, I forgot the Parmesan Cheese and it is perfect in any pesto dishes so, don't you ever forget it.

Green Smoothie

  1. Blend green smoothie ingredients with 1/4 cup of water.
  2. You may add a cup of milk for more creamier taste but I did not, because, my pesto and my dip have a lot of calories already.

♣ LUCKY! I made it mate!♣

For the spinach and cheese dip recipe, It is just right after this post.
Yup, I maybe sound a little bit foolish, because, it is way too late for my St. Patrick's day celebration (Mar 17) and way too early for Earth day (Apr. 22).
Well, At least I'm in between, right?!
So, Yeah It's an April FOOLS DAY gotcha! It is not Patrick's day okay fine, I'm not good at pranking.

Spinach and Cheese dip

Dull and bored to your old and repetitive spread for your bread?

Spinach and cheese dip, unique spread, bread spread, cream cheese
Spinach and Cheese dip

I know this recipe is ordinary and familiar, but this, may help you to make your own idea for your spread. This is another unique way of having a delicious and nutritious spread that cannot be compared from your groceries.
Like Butter? Cheese? Peanut Butter? Chocolate? or maybe Fruit Jam?
Better try this one!

My Ingredients
  • Spinach (good for your garlic)
  • 5 leaves of Basil
  • Breadstick
  • Salt & pepper
  • Onion
  • 2 heads of garlic
  • 2 box of All purpose cream
  • 1/4 of butter
My Cheese
  • 1 box of Cream cheese
  • 1/2 box of ordinary Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 box of Cheddar Quickmelt Cheese
It is better to experiment or try any type of cheese you prefer and for me, I chose only two.
Tried and Highly suggested: Mozzarella!

Spinach and cheese dip, unique spread, bread spread, cream cheese
(Missing ingredients was included in the making. Of course!)

(Honestly, it was my 1st attempt in making this and it went really spicy.
So, I suggest, to not include the garlic on the blender process but to cook it.)

In order for me to save it, all I did was to add another box of all purpose cream and yes, that is 2 in total.

My Preparation and my cooking:
  • Chop everything first.
  • Put the spinach and basil leaves into the blender for the grind.
  • Place altogether with cream cheese and all purpose cream. Mix it.
  • Remove it from the blender and place it in a pot to cook the sauce.
  • Saute the garlic and onion.
  • Place the cheese and butter. The sauce must be liquified.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.

And there you have it. Your creamy and cheesy spinach dip. It is super tasty and addictive!

I have not posted or shared anything for months so, I would like to give you my adventure in food, travel and activities that are NOT UNIQUE but special to me. But still, my main blog is all about uniqueness.

Note: This BLOG is all about my experience. It may not be good and misleading. But I assure you that everything you have read here is with pure honesty.

Homemade shabu-shabu

Shabu-shabu restaurant is quite expensive but you can now control your OWN POT at home.

Homemade Shabu-shabu

This is an old photo of our dinner. I think this idea is unique, so I thought of sharing it. I was thinking to blog it before, glad I saved some of it. So, as you can see, this is the basic choices in one dine. I have...
  • 3 kinds of Noodles
  • Thin meat cuts or seafoods ( I got Bulgogi.)
  • Eggs for meat.
  • 4 types of Veggies
  • Fish cakes (fish/squid balls, kikiam, etc.)
  • Tofu
  • Noodle soup base (Dipping sauce)
  • Hot Soup (broth)
  • Induction Stove or rice cooker

I made my own dipping sauce and it's only a simple Soy Sauce, Sesame oil, lemon juice & garlic. But try to search for more or make your own, because I didn't liked the taste of it. Perhaps, you can buy a Noodle soup base in a bottle at the market.

For the meat. I was looking for any thin slice and glad I found a Bulgogi at the supermarket.
If you're going to buy cheap meats you need to marinate it for the taste or you can just have seafoods as an alternative. Great to know that the fish cakes itself will definitely do for your meat and great for cheaper deal.

For the soup, I only put salt and broth cubes to make the taste. This is the soup for simmering your chosen food.
(YOU NEED A LOT FOR THIS ONE!)

It is really a UNIQUE dinner for your family. It was really fun to cook your own food in front of you while eating at home. It is quite convenient, because we only have one induction stove but we managed it.

Enjoy and Stay Healthy!
The leftover shabu-shabu was eaten a day after.

Fancy dinner W/O cooking skills.

How to make a fancy dinner WITHOUT cooking skills?

Fancy dinner without cooking skills.
Lamb with Worcestershire sauce

This is a Lamb. SIMPLE and PLAIN! We do know that there's the internet, cooking book and a lot of stuffs to make your dinner look fancy. BUT! Let's just admit that "some" people can't. Okay! They can have dinner outside, but what if they want to do it to make it perfect with their "EFFORT" on a special day?.

Fancy dinner without cooking skills.

Yup, the word fancy doesn't have to be plain but Lamb meat is expensive. Lamb and Wagyu are one of the finest meat. You don't even need to put a lot of ingredients to make it better but rather, SALT & PEPPER, because the taste is in the meat already. I just added Basil leaves and a little bit of oil to make it better.

Fancy dinner without cooking skills.

And that's it. Grill it and you are done! It is so tasty that everyone would love it. Just add a sauce of your choice, veggies or even a soup then put a wine or a simple juice.

P.S. I know that it doesn't really have to be a Lamb or a Wagyu to make it fancy BUT ... this dish is definitely for those who doesn't want to cook or just want to make it quick and easier. Bare with that.

Adult Coloring (Art Therapy)

Remember the old times that we used to draw, paint or even color images for fun? Well, guess what, we can still do it now, not just for fun but to "improve our health".

Adult coloring (art therapy), Mandala, Zendoodle, doodle. PTSD, Anxiety, stress reliever
First try of Mandalas

There is a lot of benefits and study in this year about the famous art theraphy through Doodling or making Mandalas. It is a trend not just for a simple hobby, but Psychologist claim it that is has a healing power.
Zendoodle

Doodle

Mandala
Big Images

I'm suffering on PTSD, anxiety, depression and stress and it helps. It also trains my brain to focus better. It is actually relaxing.
My main point of adult coloring is to change the negative thinkers into positive way by visioning colorful arts made by
the patients.

Any form of coloring will do. You can buy a book or just print it out. You can even look for old books and make your own art for a cheaper deal. I suggest to look for Mandalas or Zendoodle for advance level.

"Tortang Talong" or Filipino Eggplant Omelette?

Have you tried our famous "Tortang Talong" or our Filipino Eggplant Omelette? In BAKED?

Tortang Talong

If not, I dare you to have a taste on it. It is one of our delicious dish in my country. Every kid loves it and it is extremely easy to make one.

Baked eggplant omelette but it is not. Look like baked omelette but it is not. Look baked but cook eggplant omelette. Tortang Talong, Egg omelette, Egg fritatta, Filipino Egg dish, Baked tortang talong, Baked egg omelette

My easy steps:

  1. For the toppings or stuffings it is just a simple egg and ground pork or beef. You can put whatever ingredients you want to make the taste better.
  2. Boil the eggplant in a couple of minutes. Soft enough to make no. 3.
  3. Forked the eggplant a few times and slice the eggplant using the fork from end to end. You can peel the skin if you want to but for me, It is better if you include it for better plating.
  4. And lastly, put your own egg relish on top of the shredded eggplant and cook it on each side.

For my Egg relish:
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Ground Pork
  • Salt, white & black pepper, and choice of herbs & spices.
  • Cornstarch for the consistency.

It is that easy! Proudly saying that mine looks like a baked torta but IT IS NOT, 😎💓 really amazing! The cornstarch (or you can use flour) helps my egg relish to look fluffy and creamy. It is delicious, hoped you like it.

Updated: January 16, 2020.

Here's a little story.

So, I ran out of  CORNSTARCH and I'm so dependent on it in making this. But, luckily, I got a few idea from my mom and other recipe on making a thick consistency for your stuffing and it's BREADCRUMBS.

I bought this from SnR Congressional. The consistency became so perfect when I use this Pull-N-Chop container. It use quick, clean, and well mixed-up result for any type you may use.

And yes, I placed my Cooked Ground Pork with other ingredients such as 2 eggs and flour for best result.

You see. When I flip it on each other sides, my stuffing was well formed into one. Take note that I dipped the eggplant into another bowl of egg before stuffing it for good cover.

Voila! Another perfect and finished product of BAKED TORTANG TALONG.
You may want to check my IG @theoryofcarmz. This photo was for my DAY 16 challenge of 365 days of daily Instagram posting.

Hotdog Spaghetti

Finally, My own version of this!

Hotdog Spaghetti Threaded Spaghetti Hotdog, Hotdog Noodles

This idea is extremely popular in the internet. It was brilliantly made by whoever done it first. So, it is really cute and unique. I want to experience in making it.

How it's done.

  • Break the thin spaghetti noodles into half.
  • Make sure the hotdogs are not too soft nor too frozen.
  • Insert 4 to 7 noodles in each cutted hotdogs.
  • Boil it into 5-7 minutes. Depending on the noodle thickness.

And that's it. There is a lot of other ingredients to choose from.

  1. For noodles, Fettuccine, Angel hair or Linguini, but I highly suggest to use Angel hair, because, hot dogs will cook faster done the pasta. Though, it will still depends on your meat.
  2. For the meat, you can change it into sausages.
  3. For sauces, you can try oil base, white/red or even PURE CHEESE, Mine is Filipino Red Sauce Spaghetti with capers. A twist of sweet and bitterness taste.

Have you done your own too? It could be another great idea for your next party!

Crave and Hunt.

Just having a sudden crave

Guava leaves

Have you ever watched a film and felt crazy after watching it? Well, guess what. I just watched "The Revenant" starring Oscar winning, Leonardo Dicarprio. AND, I suddenly craved for steak. I've became a little bit Carnivore.

Crave and hunt

Tan-tan's Spicy Butche is a chicken crop. Well, it taste like fried chicken skin. I think it's one of the exotic food in my country. In the middle, It's Adobong Kambing (it's a goat.) This meat is simmered in soy sauce & vinegar and lastly, one of the best finger food of Filipinos, the Chicaron. Not an ordinary one. It's so special that a few of the meat under the skin is still attached, unlike the others.

Seriously, After I watched that film it feels like I wanna go for hunt and grill a meat. Unfortunately, We don't have a steak at our fridge and this is tonight's dinner. At least it's a meat.

Guava tea
Guava or Bayabas leave tea

And this is the result of my hunt. Thank you neighbor for this free guava leaves I'd picked. Truly, a great organic tea I made. "Bayabas" has a lot health benefits. It is one of the most used organic medicine in the Philippines.

Have you tried hunting for foods and cook it? Could be a great experience.
