Homemade shabu-shabu

Shabu-shabu restaurant is quite expensive but you can now control your OWN POT at home.

Homemade Shabu-shabu

This is an old photo of our dinner. I think this idea is unique, so I thought of sharing it. I was thinking to blog it before, glad I saved some of it. So, as you can see, this is the basic choices in one dine. I have...
  • 3 kinds of Noodles
  • Thin meat cuts or seafoods ( I got Bulgogi.)
  • Eggs for meat.
  • 4 types of Veggies
  • Fish cakes (fish/squid balls, kikiam, etc.)
  • Tofu
  • Noodle soup base (Dipping sauce)
  • Hot Soup (broth)
  • Induction Stove or rice cooker

I made my own dipping sauce and it's only a simple Soy Sauce, Sesame oil, lemon juice & garlic. But try to search for more or make your own, because I didn't liked the taste of it. Perhaps, you can buy a Noodle soup base in a bottle at the market.

For the meat. I was looking for any thin slice and glad I found a Bulgogi at the supermarket.
If you're going to buy cheap meats you need to marinate it for the taste or you can just have seafoods as an alternative. Great to know that the fish cakes itself will definitely do for your meat and great for cheaper deal.

For the soup, I only put salt and broth cubes to make the taste. This is the soup for simmering your chosen food.
(YOU NEED A LOT FOR THIS ONE!)

It is really a UNIQUE dinner for your family. It was really fun to cook your own food in front of you while eating at home. It is quite convenient, because we only have one induction stove but we managed it.

Enjoy and Stay Healthy!
The leftover shabu-shabu was eaten a day after.
